The Role
To support the Chief Procurement Officer in delivery of agreed objectives in line with the procurement strategy, providing a commercial procurement category management function for all Indirect procurement across all spend categories with external suppliers.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Identify the category strategy and a rolling programme of areas to be addressed within the procurement category.
2. Development and implementation of the procurement category strategy and agreed with the CPO and internal customer departments.
3. Deliver the procurement category strategy including sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through insight and analysis of category and sub categories areas, including:
1. Analysis of procurement spend and supply base to establish suppliers per procurement category and sub category.
2. Analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends.
3. Identification of internal and external cost drivers in the categories.
4. Development of savings opportunities and benchmarking of industry standards and practices to identify quick win opportunities.
5. Preparation of pre tender and tender documents in conjunction with key user departments.
4. Use leading practice procurement tools to develop and implement the sourcing strategies including:
1. Supply market positioning.
2. Supply base profiles.
3. Supplier assessment.
4. Supplier financial analysis.
5. Request For Information (RFI), Request For Proposal (RFP).
6. Request for Quotation (RFQ).
7. Service level agreements.
8. e Auctions.
9. Summary of quotations.
10. Cost analysis.
11. Objective decision making.
5. Ensure that the Corporation Corporate Sustainability policy is invoked within the entire Procurement process for the procurement category and sub categories.

* Good IT skills to include wide experience of word documents, Excel spreadsheets (including pivot tables and charts) and PowerPoint.

Experience
* Demonstrable record of building and implementing strategy and change (ability to make things happen, mobilise and motivate).
* Significant Business partnering and Sourcing experience.
* Management of third parties.
