Reference: 49034483 Companion/ Personal Assistant Required We are seeking a companion/ personal assistant for a 63 year old female with FrontoTemporal Dementia and subsequently Primary Progressive Aphasia. Note this person is still independant, and can participate in many activities but needs additional support to keep active. Key Interests Include: • Walking • Running • Sewing • Crafts • Gardening • Baking We are looking for an outgoing, friendly companion who shares the above interests and is able to plan activities and go out during the week. The person we are seeking support for is calm and happy. Patience and a calm persona is important. The primary progressive aphasia means comprehensive language is challenging but it is important to note that information is understood usually clearly, but the expressive response will be unclear. An ideal candidate would also be able to assist with any required that may include household admin, food shopping and ironing. Please note that FrontoTemporal Dementia in 'younger' adults presents different symptons and should not be compared to Alzheimers and other forms of dementia in the elderly. There is not and has not ever been any frustration, anger or violance.
