Our client is looking to bring their outsourced bid function inhouse by recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to set up and manage this new in-house bid function. They are a leading and highly regarded tier one landscape construction company that deliver high quality and transformative hard and soft projects ranging in value from £100,000 to £10,000,000 and have for over 20 years supplied a comprehensive service to main contractors and developers by specialising in the creation and maintenance of innovative and sustainable outdoor environments. Key Responsibilities As the Bid Manager you will work closely with their experienced in-house commercial, pre-construction and external bid team playing a pivotal role in establishing their in-house bid function and systems. As the Bid Manager you will be responsible for: Planning and managing all aspects of the bid function, providing leadership and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions. Developing winning strategies and implementing structured writing plans for quality-focused bids. Reviewing and analysing bid documents, ensuring strict compliance with client requirements. Independently and collaboratively producing high-quality, client-focused submissions for PQQs and tenders. Researching and compiling information to update the bid library and support submissions. Creating organisational charts, CVs, and other supporting documents. Ensuring draft submissions adequately address requirements, sourcing information to fill gaps. Preparing and designing bid submission folders for maximum impact. Creating post-tender presentations and compelling project phases. Maintaining project case studies, site photographs, and other marketing materials. Conducting market research and tracking trends to enhance presentation materials and software. Working closely with senior management, project managers, and technical teams to craft persuasive strategies and gather insights. Managing bid timelines and ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards. Contributing to the bid library's development and streamlining sales support processes. Requirements To be considered as the Bid Manager you will need: Proven experience as a Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, Senior Bid Write or from within a similar role. A strong track record of securing profitable work and expertise in the tendering process. Ideally a background in main contracting, landscaping, grounds maintenance or Tier 1/Tier 2 supply chains, with a strong understanding of construction delivery. Exceptional writing skills and to be capable of translating complex technical language into clear, persuasive content. Expertise in project management, construction planning, and industry methodologies. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent grammar and attention to detail skills to create accurate and compelling proposals. Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and regulations. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrently running projects and to meet tight deadlines.
