WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* Design experience in the automotive industry
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Experience in delivering production intent design and drawings
* Experience in creating designs using CAD tools such as CATIA V5/V6, 3D Experience
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience in Agile methodologies is an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in launch engineer activities.
Deliver launch targets for interior and doors trim, IP, and lead the wider body engineering team in all elements of the build delivery to ensure a flawless launch.
Ensure interior trims deliver on commitments and all launch metrics in line with the vehicle Launch Quality Operating System.
Work with body engineers, plant launch, and manufacturing engineers in problem resolution via Automated Issues Management Systems and Problem & Countermeasure processes.
Coordinate change management activities for body interior exterior parts and software in support of launch objectives.
Work on the delivery of all post-build reworks & quality validation activities to achieve customer delivery dates & quality standards.
Attend launch review meetings and prepare management information for the presentation of status reports where necessary (e.g., Build Start-up & Wash-up/Board Walk/High Hurts/Launch Management Meeting/Escalation meetings).
Coordinate and support raising and implementing alerts, rework instructions, and containment actions for any body component, vehicle reworks, and plant build containments.
Coordinate the supply of parts to meet build phase Material Required Dates (MRD).
Champion analysis and resolution of body issues impacting plant performance indicators, e.g., First Time Through (FTT).
Coordinate analysis and resolution of interior & exterior issues that deviate from vehicle specifications.
