Job summary
To support in delivering a consistent and co-ordinated reception and administrative function throughout Cheshire West and Chester sexual health provision.
To perform a variety of tasks in support of the patient journey from referral to consultation through to discharge. The role is to receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
To provide efficient and effective administrative support to sexual health service, and by creating a good environment for the patients. To be proficient in the use of systems for booking and tracking all types of outpatient appointments and patient electronic records ensuring this function is co-ordinated and updated accurately and in a timely manner.
To work in conjunction with the clinical and managerial teams to ensure appointment capacity is utilised and the timeliness of patient appointments is monitored.
To undertake clerical duties to ensure a comprehensive and efficient administrative support service.
The role of the Bank Administrator/Receptionist will also support the wider service administration function of results, test administration and service communications.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with our Administration Manager,Nurses and Doctorsyou will assist theAdministrationteam with daily tasks, demonstrate excellent IT and workload management skills, provide exceptional customer service skillson reception and over the phone, order and take deliveries, and flexibility in supporting other teams and administration Assistants.
Responsibilities will include:
1. To undertake reception duties, including updating patients personal details and organising follow-up appointments or add patient to an outpatient waiting listfollowing a standard operational procedure.
2. To create, update and amend patient case notes as required, particularly in respect of ensuring all patient demographics are accurate as required.
3. To ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
4. Undertake photocopying, facsimiles, email, memo requests and basic ad-hoc copy typing if required.
5. Maintain a filing system for any hard copy records, ensure electronic records are maintained in line with local policy and guidelines.
6. Sort and distribute and action incoming mail if required.
7. You will be required to work across a multiple of location throughout Cheshire West and Chester that includes but not limitedto:Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Winsford, Neston and Blacon
