Our client based in Cardiff is looking for an experienced Medical Secretary for an immediate start temporary assignment.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous medical secretarial experience and will be required to provide first class, comprehensive secretarial service to a large team of local Consultant Medical Staff and to facilitate effective communication between medical teams.
Duties will include:
1. Providing high level direct secretarial support for all consultants, including keeping of parallel diaries, typing correspondence and reports and arranging appointments
2. Co-ordination and planning of assessment clinics
3. Prepare cases for weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, taking formal minutes for inclusion in patient case notes
4. Collate attendance figures at assessment clinics to compile statistical returns
5. Plan and organise external meetings and events at the request of the Centre Manager and Consultant Staff.
Essential skills and knowledge:
6. RSA Level III/NVQ in an administration related subject or equivalent
7. Previous medical secretarial experience
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
9. Ability to prioritise work and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are achieved
10. Audio typing skills
11. Excellent organisation skills
12. Knowledge of a broad range of medical terminology
13. Working knowledge of MS Office, to include Excel, Outlook and Access
This is a full-time role, working 37 ½ hours per week Monday to Friday.
