About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Lead to join our wheelchair service team. This role involves providing clinical leadership and expertise to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and person:centred care. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring eligible service users receive the equipment they need to meet their mobility and postural requirements.
The role is primarily based at the Surrey Wheelchair Service site in Woking, but travel to schools, hospitals, care homes, and service users homes across Surrey and Northeast Hampshire is required. Occasional visits to other Ross Care locations may also be necessary.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee clinical services, ensuring high standards of care are provided to service users.
* Work closely with service users, carers, families, and multi:disciplinary teams to understand and meet their needs.
* Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff, ensuring professional development and compliance with HCPC registration requirements.
* Manage caseloads, ensuring timely assessments, equipment provision, and follow:up.
* Develop and review policies and procedures, contributing to continual service improvement.
* Act as a senior practitioner, carrying a complex clinical caseload while supporting the wider team with clinical challenges.
* Promote shared working with other teams and external organisations, ensuring a seamless approach to care delivery.
* Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety standards.
* Take responsibility for staff training, development, and recruitment, ensuring all clinical staff are competent and confident in their roles.
Skills/Experience
Essential:
* A BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with HCPC registration
* Enhanced DBS clearance
* Minimum of 5 years post:registration experience working with long:term or complex medical conditions.
* Strong organisational and communication skills are vital, as is a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in NHS wheelchair services (Band 7 or equivalent)
* Budget management experience
* Membership of professional groups such as the PMG.
