This is an amazing opportunity to join a very well established-successful company in Moira. This company is a family business and has successfully been trading for nearly 50 years and supply their products to to company's all over the UK & Ireland and even Europe. They are a very innovative company always diversifying into new products and new markets. They are recruiting for a Sales Director. In this role you will be responsible for developing the Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland market. Hours of work is Monday - Friday 8.30-5. Salary is negotiable up to £100k, plus bonus, company car, life assurance, private medical insurance, 29 days holidays that increase with years service and can offer working from home 1 day a week.
Your new role
You will manage a team consisting of regional sales managers, national account managers, external sales team. You will be required to travel 1 day a week to customers either in the North and South and that could be to meet existing loyal customers or presenting to new prospect customers. Main responsibilities include:
Commercial Strategy & Business Development:
* Develop and implement the company’s sales and commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new market segments, product lines, and potential partnerships.
* Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to develop targeted sales strategies and improve market positioning.
* Oversee the launch of new products in collaboration with the NPD (New Product Development) and marketing teams to maximise market impact.
Sales Leadership:
* Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
* Set clear sales objectives, territories, and performance metrics for the team, ensuring accountability and tracking progress against goals.
* Establish strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to secure long-term contracts and business growth.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales tactics and strategies, making adjustments as needed to optimise performance.
Financial & Commercial Management:
* Work closely with the finance team to set pricing strategies, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
* Oversee contract negotiations with key customers and distributors, ensuring favourable terms for the company.
* Manage the sales budget, controlling costs while optimising revenue generation.
* Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to the senior management team, ensuring transparency and alignment with company objectives.
Market Analysis & Customer Insights:
Conduct market research to stay informed of market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive activities in the industry.
Use data and insights to identify new growth opportunities and refine existing sales approaches.
Gather customer feedback and insights to inform product development, marketing strategies, and customer service improvements.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align sales efforts with branding, promotional activities, and product positioning.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure product availability, timely delivery, and efficient supply chain management.
Coordinate with NPD to introduce new products effectively to the market, ensuring sales strategies are aligned with product development timelines and customer demand.
Leadership & People Development:
Provide strong leadership and mentoring to the sales and commercial teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Ensure professional development opportunities for team members, including training, coaching, and career progression.
Promote a collaborative and results-oriented environment across the sales and commercial departments.
Brand Representation & Networking:
Act as a brand ambassador for the company, attending industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build relationships and increase visibility.
Maintain a high level of customer engagement through regular meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities.
Represent the company in key negotiations, ensuring long-term business partnerships that align with the company’s goals.
