Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a new Head of BRC Operations to join the NIHR Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre (GOSH BRC).
The BRC aims to transform the health of children, and the adults they will become, by combining cutting-edge research methods with world-leading clinical trial expertise, to accelerate the discovery of new treatments for children with rare and complex conditions. Alongside this, the BRC supports the training and development of the next generation of paediatric translational researchers.
We offer a friendly and challenging working environment with a strong commitment to personal professional development. You will be based within the Joint R&D Office at ICH but will work across GOSH and ICH. Further travel to other partner sites will be required on occasion.
Main duties of the job

You will take an active role in defining, managing and monitoring BRC strategies and deliverables.
You will provide high-level support and leadership to the BRC management team, strategic input into the building and sustainability of the research portfolio, and oversee the delivery of the BRC, including accountability for team and financial management, achievement of key performance targets, preparing and delivering operational and scientific reports, and monitoring impact.
You will have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant research area, and extensive experience working on strategic and operational matters at a senior level in biomedical research in a complex organisation.
