The hire desk team manage the supply, distribution, repair, and replacement of a wide variety of plant and equipment to our projects throughout the UK. This is a busy role where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing technical information to projects to help them select and use suitable equipment for planned activities e.g. Health & Safety in operation, instructions for use, suitability for construction site and project, transportation requirements;
2. Ensuring equipment for hire is compliant with Health & Safety requirements e.g. PAT testing, inspections and operational testing, plant operator site cards;
3. Completing contract documentation at both on-hire and off-hire stages including all legal and health & safety documentation;
4. Stock control;
5. Handling technical enquiries and complaints.
What qualification will I receive through the apprenticeship?
As part of this apprenticeship, you will follow the Plant Hire Controller Level 2 apprenticeship standard which takes up to 18 months to complete, combining 1 day per week in college and 4 days in the workplace. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification that will help you to build a rewarding career in the industry.
Where will I be based on the apprenticeship?
For this apprenticeship you will be based at our Ollerton Plant Depot, Rushcliffe House, Newark Road, New Ollerton, Nottingham, NG22 9PZ.
What do I need to be considered for the apprenticeship?
GCSE Maths and English at grade A*- D / 3-9 (or equivalent). You don’t need to have previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset, and a can-do attitude! Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note, that we do not provide sponsorship.
