This Apprenticeship program is perfect for anyone looking to start their career in vehicle maintenance, working with heavy goods vehicles while gaining valuable hands-on experience and industry recognised qualifications. Throughout your three-year Apprenticeship program as an HGV Technician Apprentice, you will learn how to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of Heavy Goods Vehicles under the supervision of our experienced mentor HGV Technicians. What you will be doing: Practical experience: Assisting with routine maintenance and servicing of HGVs to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying potential issues. Learning how to diagnose tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems. Carrying out brake, clutch and suspension repairs and replacements. Ensuring all work carried out is completed to the highest safety and quality standards. Keeping accurate records of repairs and services performed. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Training and Development: Attending training days offsite at our local providers. Completing coursework and a portfolio of evidence as part of the apprenticeship program. You will work towards a Level 3 HGV Technician qualification. On the job training learning from our experienced technicians first hand. Technical training covering mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Health and Safety ensuing best practices when working in our state of the art workshop environment. A strong interest in mechanics and vehicle Maintenance. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A commitment to the full Apprenticeship duration. A team player with a positive attitude. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. GCSES (or equivalent) in Maths and English preferred though not essential as we can provide additional training. An individual willing to travel to our providers for additional training (either Stoke, Walsall or Leicester locations all travel expenses will be funded by us). Why Join us?
