Job Title: Roofing Quantity Surveyor Location: East London/Essex Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Industry: Construction / Roofing Job Description: Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in roofing to join our dynamic team based in East London/Essex. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record of managing and delivering roofing projects within budget and on schedule. Key Responsibilities: Project Cost Management: Prepare, manage, and control budgets for roofing projects. Conduct cost analysis and financial forecasts. Monitor project expenditures and identify variances. Contract Management: Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare and review contract documents. Ensure all contracts are executed according to company policies and legal requirements. Tendering and Estimating: Prepare detailed bills of quantities and pricing documents. Assess and evaluate tenders and proposals. Provide accurate cost estimates for potential projects. Site Visits and Assessments: Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality. Measure and value work done on-site. Liaise with site managers and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines. Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks. implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues. Reporting: Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management. Maintain accurate records of project documentation and correspondence. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients Address client queries and provide regular updates on project status. Requirements: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the roofing industry. Strong knowledge of construction and roofing materials, methods, and processes. Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and QS software. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
