Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a Full time Band 2 Outpatient Receptionist to join the Adult Mental Health Team. This is a well established, experienced multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive administration and reception support to a friendly and diverse team of Consultant Psychiatrists and Nurses. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work as part of a team and using your own initiative. Experience of working as a receptionist and a professional telephone manner is essential along with a flexible approach. You will be required to have a professional, sensitive and supportive attitude to service users, carers and colleagues. This is a new post to facilitate the re- opening of the refurbished "Glade building" & the outpatients department at Highbury Hospital, which has now been merged to provide joint administrative support across both sites. This role will enable a fully functioning outpatients department across two sites, ensuring two receptionists on each site at all times. The outpatients services will be utilised by the following services: AMH, EIP & MHSOP - will have a total of 13 consultation rooms, that will be bookable and used 5 days a week, for a full 7.5hrs to provide appointments for their patients/services users NESS will have a total of 6 consultation rooms solely for their own use, that will be bookable and used 5 days a week, for a full 7.5hrs to provide appointments for their patients/services users. Main duties of the job Reception duties to include meeting patients, visitors and staff and dealing with face to face / telephone enquiries. Maintain health care records including computerises systems and databases. To receive and make internal and external telephone calls from staff, Service Users / Patients, members of the public and external agencies ensuring that messages received are appropriately signposted and actioned. Preparation of clinics i.e. ensuring up-to-date records are available. Type correspondence, as required Co-ordinating healthcare appointments for patients. To implement and maintain adequate filing and follow up systems. Transfer of individual and bulk files for achieving between locations Filing and photocopying, scan and attaching documents. Input clinical date and maintain Identify health and safety practices that are appropriate to self and others. To participate in appropriate training courses and updates in accordance with mandatory requirements and undertake a personal development plan. To be flexible in the role and to cover other areas to support the demands of the service. To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role.
