The post holder is responsible for the provision of a range of medical education, including undergraduate teaching and assessment, postgraduate teaching, and simulation. They will be the administrative lead for regional psychiatry teaching and are responsible for undergraduate placements. Additionally, the role involves managing undergraduate and postgraduate doctor in training inductions, working with various internal and external stakeholders, and deputizing for the Medical Education Manager. Communication and Working Relationship Skills Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information, ensuring agreement or cooperation as needed. Present complex, sensitive, or contentious information to multiple internal and external stakeholders. Act as a point of contact for the University of Exeter and University of Plymouth regarding medical student placements, including scheduling assessments, monitoring absences, and reporting performance. Collaborate with the Directors of Medical Education, Deputy Directors, Medical Education Manager, and other teams to manage reporting to NHSE programme managers. Analytical and Judgemental Skills Handle complex situations requiring analysis, interpretation, and comparison of options. Manage a diverse range of medical education and training communications, assessing and ensuring appropriate action is taken with high-priority, sometimes confidential, material. Maintain standards and handle administrative processes, applying university and NHSE guidelines as necessary. Planning and Organisational Skills Plan and organize complex activities or programmes, including placing, scheduling assessments, and managing absences for medical students. Conduct complex diary management and associated admin duties for meetings with stakeholders. Organize conferences and events in line with NHSE annual development plans. Manage administration related to experiences in mental health services, including work experience or medical electives. Responsibility for Policy and Service Development Implementation Propose and implement policy or service changes related to medical education, ensuring compliance with NHSE guidance and trust policy. Responsibility for Finance, Equipment, and Other Resources Authorize payments and maintain accurate records related to the Medical Education budget and expenditure. Responsibility for Human Resources Involved in recruiting and supervising staff within the team, managing multiple teaching programmes and monitoring medical student absences. Responsibility for Information Resources and Administrative Duties Maintain information systems, record and report on medical student absence and study leave expenditure, and manage confidential information and correspondence. Responsibility for Research and Development Contribute to audit and research projects within the job's remit.
