Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision in Heywood. This specialist setting provides a tailored learning environment for pupils aged 11 to 17 who have struggled in mainstream or SEN schools and thrive in smaller, more focused settings. This is a permanent position with the opportunity to secure a school contract for the right Teaching Assistant .
Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
1. Supporting small groups of up to six pupils with diverse and complex needs
2. Working as a teaching assstant alongside teachers and other support staff to provide a nurturing learning environment
3. Helping students re-engage with education in a setting designed to support their social and emotional well-being
4. Adapting learning strategies to meet individual needs in a calm and structured environment
5. Encouraging independence and building confidence in young learners
6. Supporting students' emotional and behavioural development in a way that is sensitive to their individual challenges
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:
7. Passionate about working with young people with special educational needs
8. A dynamic, committed, and resilient individual who goes above and beyond
9. Ability to build positive relationships with students who require a personalised approach
10. Experience in SEN or alternative provisions is beneficial but not essential
