Responsibilities
* Responsible for reviewing production orders and beginning the process of starting line up or keeping lines in production.
* Responsible for all processes, equipment, and machine line operators (MLO’s) on assigned lines.
* Must meet production, quality, and quantity standards.
* Train machine line operators (MLO’s) on all procedures associated with ISO and its guidelines.
* Ensure proper set-ups and quality checks are performed.
* Organize work for smooth operations.
* Complete tally sheets and documentation on work orders.
* Assist in training machine line operators (MLO’s) on quality checks, gauge, length, width, and weight.
* Train machine line operators (MLO’s) on how to drop the rope and thread up the post gussets and bag machines.
* Make necessary adjustments and settings to equipment for compliance with work orders.
* Can operate all aspects involved in start-up, process control blending system, recalibration, and control panel.
* Troubleshoot issues on extrusion, bag machines, and winders.
* Adhere to company’s PPE guidelines.
* Advise machine line operators (MLO’s) of order changes to ensure proper materials are ready.
* Responsible for training (MLO’s) on the processes of blown film production.
* Understand resin systems and the various resins used for their applications.
* Notify Assistant Supervisor or Supervisor of equipment and/or quality problems.
* Run lines efficiently to minimize scrap.
* Assist other machine line operators (MLO’s) when lines go down or there is a manufacturing problem.
* Move equipment with a pallet jack or forklift during changeovers.
* Feed the automatic scrap recovery system to limit scrap.
* Relieve machine line operators for breaks and lunch periods.
* Work as machine line operator as needed.
* Replace broken or worn-out hand equipment.
* Ensure that machine line operators have their PPE available and in use.
* Willing to work twelve-hour shifts and overtime when needed.
* Read work orders and check resins and concentrates for the lines.
* Move pallets and skids of resins/concentrates to designated areas using a pallet jack or forklift.
Qualifications
* High School diploma or GED preferred.
* Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs.
* Must be able to drive a forklift.
* Extrusion experience preferred.
* Troubleshooting extrusion equipment preferred.
* Must be mechanically inclined.
* Experience in a team-oriented environment is a plus.
* Working knowledge of extrusion/converting equipment and process desired.
* Manufacturing experience preferred.
