Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a varied caseload of costs-related matters, servicing departments such as Clinical Negligence, Court of Protection, Civil Liberties, General Litigation, Family, and Immigration.
2. Draft detailed and accurate bills of costs, points of dispute, and replies.
3. Prepare schedules of costs for negotiations and settlement purposes.
4. Liaise with fee earners to provide advice on costs-related matters, ensuring optimal outcomes.
5. Attend costs assessments and hearings as required.
6. Keep abreast of costs law developments and procedural changes to provide accurate advice and draft documents effectively.
Requirements:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal costs role, with a focus on claimant cases.
2. Advocacy experience is desirable.
3. Proven ability to handle a wide range of costs issues independently.
4. Strong knowledge of costs law, procedures, and relevant legislation.
5. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
