The Team
This role will be based in Aflac Northern Ireland where you would join a diverse, multi-function Cyber Security Team to support our Global Security Program, protecting our customers in the US & Japan. The Aflac NI Security Team has taken ownership of key components of the security program and has integrated with the Global Security Team to strengthen existing functions and build new capabilities.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Delivery Lead to oversee the successful implementation and management of our cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, project management skills, and the ability to lead multi-location, cross-functional teams to deliver robust security solutions.
The Role
We are searching for a self-motivated leader and delivery lead who is keen to make an impact at a Fortune 200 company. This is an exciting new role that will work within our Global Security Team to oversee the delivery of security shared services which will drive efficiency, consistency and cost-effectiveness in their operations. The successful candidate will also utilize their exceptional project management capabilities and leadership skills to plan and manage strategic projects across the Global Security Program and drive the successful delivery of security initiatives.
The Global Security Program Delivery Lead will be responsible for leading a team of delivery leads to drive the successful execution of cyber security initiatives across the organization. This role will develop a structured framework to evaluate Global Security Program effectiveness and develop and manage a roadmap of capability enhancements.
The successful candidate will have a background in enterprise level project delivery within a multi-location company. They will be a passionate and proven leader with the ability to gain stakeholder buy-in, communicate confidently at both the executive and project team level, and collaborate with a wide range of technical and non-technical teams, regardless of geographical or organisational boundaries. They will be a natural problem solver with a cool head, who can deal with ambiguity and work autonomously to deliver results.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective and secure delivery of global security programs, requiring a balance of strategic leadership, program management expertise, and a deep understanding of security challenges on a global scale.
What you’ll be doing
* Design and implement a framework to measure and enhance the operational effectiveness of the Global Security Program.
* Liaise with Global Security Teams to evaluate security capabilities, identify gaps and provide strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Use a data driven approach to provide actionable insights to leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and key milestones.
* Plan and lead workshops used to evaluate security capabilities against industry best practices.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize remediation efforts and develop a roadmap for capability enhancements.
* Plan, execute, and manage global security programs and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for security initiatives.
* Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security program delivery.
* Manage a team of delivery leads, providing guidance, coaching and performance management.
What you should have
You should have both the project management experience, and the technical know-how needed to operate within the cyber security industry.
Essential
* 8+ years’ experience in a similar role with proven experience managing complex cybersecurity projects and delivering results.
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with technical, business, and senior management stakeholders.
* Experience working with a large global organisation, building relationships with teams in other locations and driving change from a remote location.
* Strong influencing, conflict resolution, decision making and negotiation skills.
* A willingness to challenge and improve processes where it impacts the pace of the team.
* Ability to design, plan and lead cross-functional project workshops.
* Project delivery experience using agile best practices and extensive knowledge of Jira & Confluence tools.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Experience building, mentoring, and inspiring a high-performing program delivery team.
Desirable
* Industry recognized Scrum master certification.
* Experience communicating strategies to C-suite executives.
* Knowledge of emerging security trends and technologies.
* Understanding of global security standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, CCPA).
