Consultant in Medical Oncology covering Urology (including prostate, bladder, penile, testicular, germ cell, renal).
You will be joining a team of 16 Consultants providing comprehensive Oncology services to the 750,000 strong population of Lincolnshire. ULHT has a comprehensive range of radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments at Lincoln County Hospital, with chemotherapy also provided at Pilgrim Hospital (Boston) and Grantham and District Hospital. In addition, we have a Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) that delivers chemotherapy to eligible patients in Louth, Grantham and Skegness.
Out-Patient clinics are provided at Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital Boston. We also provide virtual outpatient clinics for patients, and there are options for consultants to work remotely from home. There are also opportunities to undertake Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials.
Main duties of the job
This post has been assessed as attracting 10.76 basic PA's per week plus additional programmed activities by separate negotiation, as well as a 1:14 on-call. This is a Trustwide appointment based at Lincoln County Hospital with one day a week at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The appointee will provide a comprehensive service for oncology management to the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, particularly for Urology (including prostate, bladder, penile, testicular, germ cell, renal) tumors, attending the MDTs.
You will be supported by 7 Specialty Doctors, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 2 trainee Doctors, and 3 Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Base: Lincoln with one day a week at Pilgrim Hospital Boston.
The Department:
* The Oncology Department at Lincoln houses the Oncology Assessment Unit (OAU), radiotherapy, oncology outpatient clinics, as well as the Ingham Suite for chemotherapy.
* There are 4 Consulting Rooms and 4 examination rooms.
* There are Specialist Nurse and radiographer led Clinics.
* All Day Case patients are cared for on Ingham Suite, Lincoln and the Chemotherapy Suite, Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
Applicants should be fully registered with the UK General Medical Council or be within 6 months of completion of CCT at the time of interview.
