Project Manager - Water & Civil Engineering Sector (Manchester)Role Overview:As a Project Manager, you will oversee multiple projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, program requirements, and achieve maximum commercial performance. You will collaborate closely with the Estimating Department, site delivery teams, and surveyors to ensure projects are completed safely and exceed customer expectations.Key Responsibilities:General Management: Prepare financial forecasts, monitor project costs, and produce monthly performance reports. Oversee projects from design to completion, including handover documentation. Review progress, budgets, resources, and forward planning. Define and manage work packages, ensuring clear scope understanding. Chair weekly site meetings and maintain accurate discussion records. Build and sustain relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants. Develop and manage construction programs and site investigations. Deliver cost-effective engineering solutions meeting client requirements. Implement Project Plans, risk assessments, and method statements in line with company standards. Maintain comprehensive site diaries and records. Drive cost efficiency and estimate additional work outside of target costs. Support estimating new tenders and pursue potential new clients.Health, Safety, and Environmental: Lead by example in promoting HS&E procedures and compliance. Ensure HSE-related documentation is up-to-date. Provide monthly HSE reports and allocate responsibilities to the site team. Maintain compliance with relevant standards and provide team briefings.Quality: Manage and produce Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure signoffs. Ensure QA documentation is maintained and technical queries resolved. Deliver as-builts and O&M manuals to clients on project completion.Key Measures & Targets: Timely submission of weekly and monthly reports. Achievement of contract timescales and business objectives. Fulfilment of KPI measures.Key Relationships: Customers and stakeholders. Subcontractors and suppliers. Site team members and support departments.Person Specification:Essential: Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, and cost control. Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent software. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent. CSCS manager’s card and SMSTS certification. Familiarity with NEC contracts, including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate teams. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Proven ability to manage direct labor organizations and deliver successful projects with minimal supervision.This is a great opportunity to grow and work within a developing role.
