Our CL Operations team is seeking a Process Manager to join the team in our Worcester, MA or Howell, MI office. This is a full-time, exempt role. This is a hybrid or remote opportunity.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the process engineering and architecture to optimize and enhance our underwriting and omnichannel platforms as it relates to risk analysis, pricing, systems, workflows, operating models, and telephony systems. This highly collaborative role reports to the Vice President of CL Business Operations to efficiently drive the transformation of our omnichannel platforms driving a more modern internal and external experience through updated operating models, technology usage, process enhancements and end-to-end workflows.
The role will work with key partners to ensure optimal efficiency through system enhancements and transformative initiatives. Engage and lead projects and initiatives impacting small commercial business. Provides consult, insight and guidance to field teams and leaders and corporate business units with respect to field and corporate needs around learning, development, and underwriting solutions. The role will assist with the development and implementation of learning, process and underwriting improvement plans that result in better risk selection decisions and protection of corporate assets.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
* Process engineer and architect for business initiatives related to operational transformation via technology solutions, data analysis, operating model analysis, workflow, telephony enhancements, and standard practice execution.
* Partner with Chief Underwriting Officers, Line of Business, Customer Service Center leadership, Industry Solutions, Product Development, Actuary, Operations, Middle Market, Field and L&D resources to execute on initiatives.
* End to end project management to ensure closure and/or continued ownership of projects, tools and deliverables.
* Identify operational and system improvements and learning opportunities through conducting field standard practice reviews.
* Day to day field and home office support on problem resolution and solution execution.
* Network within the organization to identify resources and influence others to help execute and influence manage on initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
* At minimum 5+ years hands-on, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property, and Workers Compensation multi-line underwriting experience.
* A strong understanding of call center workflows, systems, tools and standard practices.
* Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skills and a high level of knowledge of both insurance and underwriting procedures including underwriting rules & guidelines, CAT management concerns, products, tools, systems, and regulatory compliance issues.
* Bachelor’s degree and/or professional designations such as CPCU or CIC desired.
* Experience with coaching, leading, mentoring desired.
* Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues. High degree of organization and ability to project manage required.
* Ability to keep current on Hanover’s new industry programs, as well as staying up to date on underwriting issues and regulations, industry activity and trends.
