Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Experience and Learning Team for a Curriculum Manager (30 hours a week). This varied role focuses on developing and overseeing the induction training for new Healthcare Support Workers and new Nurses. The role also oversees the development of new courses, driven by local or national priorities. This role is ideal for a colleague with excellent organisational and communication skills, with recent training experience, who has a passion for ensuring colleagues have the right skills and competencies to provide safe patient care.
The role requires the postholder to have a Leadership and Management Qualification to Masters' level or equivalent, as well as a training qualification. The right applicant could be fully supported to obtain this qualification if they do not hold it (subject to pre-agreement).
This role is Trustwide. The base is negotiable and the post holder will be required to drive to different sites to support their team, provide training, and attend meetings.
The post holder will have a flexible approach to working office hours and will need to be physically able and a car driver, as kit is required to be transported to external training venues.
Main duties of the job
To lead on the development and implementation of induction programmes for Healthcare Support Workers and New Nurses
To oversee the Care Certificate process to ensure new Healthcare Support Workers have the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate, safe and high-quality care
To support international nurses undergoing the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) educational pathway for international recruits, by providing skills practice opportunities for candidates
To work collaboratively with the Clinical Skills Lead and other key stakeholders on the development and delivery of curriculum for new programmes driven by workforce need or national priorities
Oversight of the skills hubs across the county to ensure they have the appropriate equipment and stock
