We are looking for a motivated production supervisor to join a market leading food manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the shift manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. With progressive training and development, this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of staff. The position will appeal to a strong team leader looking for their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.
Role Description
1. Ensuring adherence to production plans, taking into consideration the completion of customers' orders in full and on time on a daily/weekly basis.
2. Optimising resources within the bakery, moving staff around where needed to ensure the best use of staff, skills, and machines are utilised effectively.
3. Ensuring accurate completion of paperwork from factory staff and team leaders.
4. Ensuring OEE is recorded daily, reporting on OEE during the handover, reviewing the results, and continuously looking for ways to improve OEE performance.
5. Identifying any problems with product, processes, staff, equipment, or machinery that may impact production, end product quality, or staff wellbeing, and taking necessary actions or seeking advice/help.
6. Ensuring Health & Safety guidelines are followed, taking necessary actions to reduce accidents, near misses, and potential hazards, ensuring all machines have the relevant safety guards on.
7. Liaising with engineers on machine faults or breakdowns, and plant performance.
8. Striving to overcome any difficulties within the team or with individuals, processes, and products.
9. Communicating with team leaders throughout the shift about any issues that arise, discussing and planning solutions with the production manager/shift manager.
10. Communicating company smart targets and striving to achieve them as required.
11. Keeping your team motivated and focused on the Company vision and goals, constantly striving to promote and achieve company targets and goals.
12. Working with managers to implement changes, company procedures, and policies, liaising with all departments on best practices, ideas, issues, and suggestions.
13. Ensuring all staff adhere to the company hygiene policy and procedures.
14. Ensuring all staff abide by food safety procedures.
15. Striving to produce good quality products at all times in line with customer requirements and company specifications.
16. Working with the training officer to ensure that all SOPs are updated and trained out to relevant staff.
17. Conducting daily toolbox meetings with managers, engineers, and team leaders.
18. Updating the communication board when applicable.
19. Questioning the way we work and our processes regularly, identifying any improvements.
