Senior Occupational Therapist

St Ann's has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team on a 12 month fixed term basis/secondment opportunity, covering maternity leave.
You will join as part of the therapies team on the acute wards at St Ann's Hospital.
The ideal candidate will need to have an interest in mental health, be enthusiastic, caring and a good team player. There will be opportunities to learn and develop knowledge in working with other client groups from the therapies team who work across the hospital.
We aim to promote a person centred and a therapeutic approach where patients and families are supported by a friendly, skilled and compassionate team.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a highly motivated and dedicated MDT and therapies team with an emphasis on delivering a timely, safe and effective occupational therapy provision to the ward.
Applicants will be expected to deliver excellent clinical skills, to be confident in occupational therapy assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, reviewing and outcomes.
Applicants should have an enthusiastic approach to learning and development and supporting team members.
This is a full-time role of 37.50 hours per week with some flexibility to meet service needs.
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

Knowledge
* Degree in occupational therapy
* Registration with HCPC
* Physical management of violence and aggression training
* Membership of a professional body
