Overview of the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior National Account Manager to take the lead on one of the most strategically important and high-value retail accounts. This role will be pivotal in developing and executing customer strategies that deliver sustainable, profitable growth across core ranges and NPD. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the customer, the SNAM will play a key role in shaping commercial plans, driving performance, and influencing cross-functional alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver against commercial targets for volume, value, and margin.
* Lead the monthly forecasting process in collaboration with Finance and Supply Chain.
* Develop and manage customer-specific budgets, forecasts, risks, and opportunities.
* Work in partnership with Trade Marketing to implement joint business plans.
* Align customer strategy with internal Revenue Growth Management to ensure ROI.
* Drive NPD distribution and performance across branded and own-label portfolios.
* Build a deep understanding of the customer’s strategy to identify growth levers.
* Support the Business Unit Director in shaping long-term account plans.
* Maintain a structured contact strategy across all relevant customer and internal stakeholders.
* Lead key projects that add value for both customer and business.
* Manage pricing changes and commercial negotiations effectively.
* Ensure accurate and timely resolution of financial claims in conjunction with Credit Control.
* Input into the annual planning and budgeting cycle.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial sales role, ideally within FMCG or food.
* Proven experience managing large national accounts with strong commercial outcomes.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
* High attention to detail, with excellent numerical and analytical capabilities.
* Solid understanding of P&L, forecasting, and commercial planning.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver against strategic objectives and manage cross-functional projects.
* Skilled at building relationships across functions and seniority levels.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with retailer data tools (e.g., Dunnhumby, Retail Link).
