Job Introduction An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Optimisation team, working on the In-Patient units at both St Martins Hospital, Bath and Paulton Hospital. This role supports the delivery of an efficient and high-quality ward-based pharmaceutical service, contributing to the implementation of local and national policies to optimise patient outcomes. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective prescribing, managing medication budgets, and reducing medicines wastage. You will provide professional advice and support to clinicians, nurses, and patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Within this role there is also an opportunity to expand the technician role to other service units within the organisation, allowing you to further develop your skills and experience in a broader range of settings. This is a part-time position, working 22.5 hours across the week Monday to Friday, with no weekend, late duties, or Bank Holiday cover required. We welcome applications from pharmacy technicians working in hospital, community, and primary care settings, including community pharmacy Main Responsibility Pharmaceutical Services: Ensure safe and efficient pharmacy services in line with policy and legislation. Medicines Management: Support ward-based medicines management, including medication reviews and prescription chart monitoring. Medication Supply: Maintain accurate stock levels, process patient-dispensed items, and manage safe disposal of returned medicines. Patient Support: Advise patients on safe medicine use and support with self-administration of medicines ready for discharge. Controlled Drugs: Perform stock checks, audits, and ensure compliance with Controlled Drug regulations. Specialist Advice: Provide technical advice on medicines care plans and work to reduce waste.
