As the Management Accountant at Newson Gale, you will be pivotal in supporting our financial integrity while working within a safety-critical industry. You will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day financial operations, ensuring our accounting practices meet high standards, and helping guide financial decision-making. Your role will be crucial to ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and transparency, all while contributing to the continued growth of our innovative static control solutions for hazardous areas.
How you will make a difference
* Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management to ensure smooth financial operations.
* Maintain Financial Integrity: Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance, including journal entries, and help close monthly and yearly accounts with precision.
* Support Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing key financial metrics, such as gross margin and working capital, to provide valuable insights for decision-making.
* Drive Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations (VAT, corporate tax), and internal policies, while supporting external and internal audits.
* Contribute to Financial Planning: Collaborate with the Head of Controlling on budgeting and forecasting activities to support the strategic financial goals of the company.
What you should be good at
* Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements with strong attention to detail.
* Accounting & Compliance Expertise: Knowledgeable in UK accounting practices and standards, with a keen understanding of tax laws and regulations.
* Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with a focus on resolving complex financial issues.
* Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information clearly.
* Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience of SAP is highly advantageous.
