Job Title: SEMH Support Staff

Hours: Full-time/Part-time
I am looking for passionate and experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Support Staff. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop coping strategies within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to help students manage emotions and behavior effectively.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, promoting emotional well-being and self-esteem.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
- Support students during lessons and break times, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
- Help students develop social and emotional skills, resilience, and self-regulation.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of behavior management and de-escalation techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour.
- A passion for helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or experience in a similar role.
- Team Teach or other de-escalation training is a plus.
- Experience working with students with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or trauma-related challenges.
