Job summary An opportunity has arisen to recruit a staff nurse to our busy Outpatients department at Newmarket for 24 hours per week. We are looking for an ambitious team player to work within our small team. We have a vast array of specialities who come and hold clinics from Addenbrookes and West Suffolk Hospital. An interest in plastics, dermatology and orthopaedic minor surgery, wound care and ophthalmology would be beneficial. Please be aware this position is Fixed Term for 12 months. Main duties of the job Outpatient Staff Nurses are responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care for patients in the department. o They will act as a role model and help to support the junior staff.o Use their own initiative and to work independently within the bounds of their existing knowledge and skill.o Use effective verbal and written communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team within own department and the wider clinical area. They will engage in effective communication with patients, relatives, and visitors.o Be responsible for delivering high standards of patient care based on evidence-based practice and have a professional duty to update and develop their professional practice.
