Job summary Leg Ulcer Support Nurse band 3/4 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Leg Ulcer Support Nurse in Barking and Dagenham based in the Leg Ulcer/wound clinic We are seeking a motivated and dynamic colleague for this exciting opportunity to work within the Tissue Viability team within Barking and Dagenham. The team are a forward-thinking and innovative service that is community based. The post holder will develop their existing skills in Leg Ulcer management over a 12 month period. At the end of this period the post holder will have achieved the following competencies to progress to a Band 4 position: - assessment /re assessment including doppler assessment - bandaging including advanced bandaging techniques - wound assessment and dressing choice - management of the healed leg including compression garment choice. Salary for band 3 is £24,071 - £25,674Salary for band 4 is £26,530 - £29,114 Main duties of the job The post will primarily be based within the Leg Ulcer Clinic within B & D but there may be some expectation to undertake home visits The successful applicant must be flexible, a good team worker, used to working under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and IT skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and other members of the MDT. Previous experience in a Leg Ulcer Management & Compression Bandaging is essential The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice to assist the registered clinician to undertake comprehensive and holistic assessments. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
