Salford's Ward H3 is looking to recruit a band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse who is motivated and passionate about working within Renal Services.
We would like to appoint a sister/charge nurse with experience in shift co-ordinating who is ready to take the next step in leading a team on Ward H3 - our inpatient renal ward.
This is a 25 bedded ward providing care to patients with complex renal needs including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and plasma exchange. Within H3 we have 3 monitored beds to provide a higher level of care to our patients. We also have a procedure room where we carry out procedures such as the insertion of haemodialysis access, peritoneal dialysis access and kidney biopsies to both in patients and out patients.
Main duties of the job
As a band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse on H3 you will work together with the other Band 6 nurses to support the Ward Manager to deliver excellent care to our patients and their families.
You will need to have a proven record of experience in managing complex patients and development within a team, whilst displaying excellent leadership qualities and supporting more junior staff within the ward area to develop clinical skills. We are also looking for a nurse with experience of managing a team where change has been implemented to improve patient experience.
As a nurse on H3 you will be supported in developing haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis skills along with plasma exchange skills.
Salford Royal is a tertiary centre for Renal patients. Serving Greater Manchester with inpatient, outpatient and in-centre haemodialysis. There are currently 4 kidney Care Centres in the West Sector operating in Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham and Wigan.
These provide haemodialysis to outpatients along with nurse and consultant led outpatient clinics. We also have teams supporting community peritoneal and home haemodialysis as well as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management are also on site.
