Job Title: Care Assistant
Salary: Dependent on experience and skills

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Unit Manager
Principal Purpose of Role:
As a Care Assistant, you will work alongside other staff to meet the personal care needs of service users while maintaining their dignity and promoting independence. You will assist with general day-to-day activities, ensuring the residents feel safe, respected, and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist service users with personal care (e.g., dressing, washing, toileting, and bathing).
* Support with mobility and physical disabilities, including the use of aids and equipment.
* Help service users who are sick, requiring minor dressings or assistance with feeding.
* Assist in promoting mental and physical activities through communication, outings, and recreation.
* Perform light cleaning, bed making, and room tidying.
* Serve meals, assist with feeding, and ensure a clean dining area.
* Answer emergency bells, the door, and the phone, and greet visitors.
* Maintain accurate records and participate in meetings and training.
* Support service users in maintaining their independence.
* Administer medication as required.

* Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
* Good communication skills.
Special Conditions:
* Six day duties and four night duties.
* Morning shifts consist of six care staff and two cleaners.
* Afternoon/evening shifts have four staff on duty.
* Night duty requires four night staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous care experience is desirable, but not essential.
* Ability to work to the highest standards in care.
* A positive, respectful attitude to confidentiality and safeguarding.
