About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repairs operations within a leading social housing provider. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation that is committed to providing high-quality housing services to residents.
As a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of operatives, ensuring that all repair and maintenance works are completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with health & safety regulations. You will also liaise with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate a team of trade operatives, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of repairs and maintenance work.
* Plan and allocate work schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
* Monitor and manage performance, conducting regular assessments and providing training where necessary.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Manage and control budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining service standards.
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.
* Handle tenant queries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring effective resolution.
* Work closely with contractors and external stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Maintain accurate records and produce reports on performance, productivity, and compliance.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar Repairs Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor role within social housing or a related sector.
* Strong technical knowledge of property maintenance, repairs, and compliance regulations.
* Experience managing and motivating a team of operatives and subcontractors.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Good understanding of health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations.
* Ability to use IT systems, including scheduling software and reporting tools.
* A relevant trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) or equivalent experience.
* A valid UK driving licence.
