This busy, friendly, Ultrasound department has a vacancy for a Radiology Assistant. The post is based at Aintree University Hospital.
This is an exciting post, requiring multi-disciplinary team working with Radiographers, Sonographers, Radiologists and our clerical teams. It will involve caring for a wide range of patients and providing assistance with radiology-based procedures and examinations.
The job role will include setting up and assisting in procedures and examinations, post-procedure aftercare, and aiding imaging staff as a chaperone.
The main working hours for this job are:
Monday - Friday 0830 – 1700.
Scope for further weekend, evening and bank holiday working is also expected.
Previous NHS health care experience is an advantage, together with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a health care based area is expected.
The job role will include assisting in procedures and examinations, post-procedure aftercare, and aiding imaging staff as a chaperone.

1. To escort patients within the Department chaperoning where
necessary and be responsible for patient comfort and well being.
2. To assist in undressing and redressing of patients.
3. To assist patients to use toilet facilities as appropriate.
4. To assist patients on and off ultrasound table before and after procedures.
5. To communicate effectively with patients by listening to their concerns
reassuring them by giving information and where appropriate eliciting and
communicating information to other members of the Directorate team as appropriate.
6. To collect, collate and file patient documentations as required.
7. To input and retrieve patient information using the computerised radiology patient information system and the hospital information support system.
