This role will have a starting salary of £32,729.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The successful apprentice will gain this through a combination of formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to apply these skills in a real work environment through on-the-job training.

The Role

As an Apprentice Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating closely with experienced systems engineers, benefiting from appropriate guidance and support. You will gain proficiency in developing and applying state-of-the-art systems engineering approaches to support the design and realisation of VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Systems engineer (degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
2. Attend designated training provider and develop a good knowledge of technical skills.
3. Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
Salary

Qualifications
1. A 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant science, technology, engineering, or maths discipline.
2. Applicants with alternative qualifications or with professional experience, but qualifications slightly below this level, will also be considered.
3. Strong interpersonal skills.
4. Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for chosen area of work.
