Your Impact
A buyer has a crucial role in the organization and is responsible for managing procurement activities and supplier relationships. Ensures that all goods, supplies, and inventory needed for the business to operate are ordered and kept in stock, as well as controls inventory levels, quality and costs associated with purchasing these items.
Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:
1. Vendor management (On-time delivery, Spend, Quotes, Quality, Projects, and supply chain issues)
2. Supply Chain management (risk management, managing issues in the market, lead time, obsolescence, and order quantity management)
3. New Product Implementation (purchasing tasks and supply chain management)
4. Inventory and Cost management (making sure we are not paying too much, managing overstock and obsolete products, and creating projects to drive savings in the business)
5. Leading sustainability initiatives within the procurement process, including sourcing eco-friendly materials and evaluating suppliers’ environmental impact.
6. Participate in negotiating Logistics management and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality specifications.
7. Participate in the supplier selection process, including conducting due diligence, evaluating bids, and making quality, price and capability recommendations.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
·Knowledge of working in a manufacturing environment
·Electronics and metalwork sourcing knowledge
·Manufacturing quality
·Low-cost region sourcing knowledge.
·Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferable)
·Vendor and contract management
·Comprehensive understanding of MS Office packages
·Knowledge of problem-solving and continuous improvements
·CIPS qualification advantageous but not essential
