Location: The post location will be confirmed with successful candidate. Due to the nature of work within the College, it is anticipated that travel to all campus sites may be required. Main Duties and Responsibilities: TosupporttheHeadofITServicesonthedesign,installation,configurationand monitoringoftheCollegeDesktopServicesequipmentandrespectivesoftware, including: WindowsandMacOScomputers LaptopsandLaptopTrolleys All-in-OneDevices MobileDevicesAndroidandiOStablets,etc; Phonehandsetsdeskandmobile MFDs PrintersandScanners MiscellaneousperipheraldevicesusedinClassroomsandOffices AudioVisual Tosuperviseandberesponsiblefortheallocationandqualityofworkcarriedoutby the Desktop Services sub-team. TosupporttheHeadofITServicesonthedesign,installation,upgrades,configuration, day-to-day maintenance and testing as required for both hardware and software elements of desktop appliances. To lead on fault resolution for all elements of the College desktop environment, includingidentifyingrootcauseofanyissueandpreservelogsandinformationforany investigation or forensics. ToensurethatallaspectsoftheCollegedesktopsystemsarefullydocumented, including operational procedures and regular reviews conducted. To monitor and report on all aspects of desktop hardware and software usage to ensure quality of service, the highest level of system performance and device and software utilisation. To ensure all security andAnti-Virus tools are installed, monitored and tested on all desktopandmobiledevices,asadvisedbytheNetwork,InfrastructureandCybersub- team. ToberesponsibleforAssetManagementofallCollegedesktopdevicesandregularly perform audits and stock checks of equipment to ensure databases are an accurate record of assets. ToleadtheDesktopServicessub-teaminallaspectsofServiceDeskoperation, including reporting, monitoring and ticket escalation where appropriate. To provide monthly reports on all aspects of the IT Services Service Desk and provide the Head of IT Services with recommendations on service improvements. Tomaintain,manageanddevelopasoftwarelibraryforallCollegedesktopdevices including operating system and application software, ensuring that only authorised staff and students have access to license keys and copies of software. ToensureappropriatetechnicalproceduresandpoliciesasdeterminedbytheHeadof IT Services and Network, Infrastructure and Cyber lead are followed by all Desktop Services staff to ensure devices to be virus free, fully patched and only accessible to authorised users. Toliaisewithcurriculumandsupportmanagersandstudentrepresentativesregularly to review the services provided and to identify any new requirements. Toensuretokeepfullyupdatedwithcurrentlegalandindustrystandardrequirements. To ensure all College desktop systems are fit for purpose for curriculum delivery, college management and support services through maintenance planning and implementation of rolling replacement schemes. To support the Head of IT Services in the development, review and implementation of e.g. the Summer Work Plans, including monitoring of progress. To assist the Head of IT Services in the development, review, implementation and testingoftheCollegesITIncidentResponsePlans,BusinessContinuityandDisaster Recovery (DR) plans and to monitor systems and respond to IT Security incidents. To conduct regular reviews, participate in College audit arrangements ensuring appropriate IT compliance procedures are in place for Desktop Systems as directed by the Head of IT Services in conjunction with Network, Infrastructure and Cyber Lead. TosupporttheHeadofITServicesonprocurementandcontractmanagementfor equipment and services within your area of responsibility. To participate in identification of training needs for staff, and in training delivery as requiredandtoorganiseandprovideappropriatetraininginrelationtoallaspectsof the area of responsibility.
