Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary – Commercial Property

Salary up to £26k DOE
Based in Rotherham
Medlock Partners are partnering with a reputable law firm based in Rotherham, who are looking for a conveyancing assistant / legal secretary to join their commercial conveyancing department. They are looking for someone who can support with a wide range of administration duties to support the conveyancing fee earners. The successful person will ideally have a minimum of 2+ years working experience of the process for buying and selling commercial property.
Key responsibilities of the Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary:
* Provide a wide variety of administration duties to the conveyancing fee earners for commercial property transactions.
* Providing clients with estimates.
* Undertaking searches, initial and final.
* Draft and prepare standard correspondence and legal documents using the case management system.
* Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and third parties.
* Carry out legal research and assist with file management.
* Completing land registry forms and completing stamp duty land tax forms.
Key requirements for the Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary:
* Minimum 2+ years’ experience with both commercial sale and purchase transactions.
* Excellent administration, organizational skills, and time management.
* Quick learner and eager to gain new skills.
* Experience of taking money on account from clients.
* Strong systems skills and knowledge including MS Office and case management systems.
* Experience with SDLT calculations and completing forms.
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels within the firm.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
