Purpose of the job
Working as part of a team, the Credit Controller will support the businesses in maximising cash flow by reducing aged debts through taking ownership for a specific area of clients, be it geographically or client specific. This role is a permanent full time position.
Following the credit control processes set by the company and using your experience, you will build relationships within your client group, billing teams, and account managers.
Working in a proactive way, it is required to not only reduce any aged debt but also ensure current debt does not age further; this will require you to be creative in your work ethic to ensure issues do not re-appear.
You will be a team player, who is able to support your colleagues by sharing knowledge and experience. It will also be required at times to work independently on the tasks set. Be prepared to take on new assignments within the credit control department.
In addition, you will be involved and assist in ad hoc duties relating to the SAP implementation within the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Obtaining timely payment of clients’ outstanding balances
2. Keeping overdue balances to a minimum
3. Allocation of cash receipts
4. Maintaining the accounting systems sales ledger accounts
5. Liaise with internal departments in handling invoicing issues
6. Liaising with internal departments to facilitate the collection of unpaid invoices
7. Liaising with customers providing up to date information on the aged debt status
8. Completion of ad hoc requests and working on ad hoc projects when required
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
1. Previous Credit control experience
2. SAP B1 knowledge
3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
4. Previous experience in multi currencies
5. Good understanding of general accounting processes
