The RoleAs part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are delighted to be recruiting a Research Officer to join our collaborative, friendly team of 9 social researchers. Initially this will be offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract basis.The Research Officer will support the delivery of qualitative research and analysis for our growing portfolio of existing client accounts. This a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week. but we are open to flexible work patterns. There will need to be flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the specific project.Key responsibilities include:Supporting the recruitment of research participantsGathering and reviewing documents for evidence reviewsAssisting with the development of research tools e.g. surveys and discussion guidesArranging and carrying out interviews,Supporting the delivery of focus groupsSupporting transcription processesSupporting the recording and analysis of new business opportunitiesData coding and analysisProducing draft sections of reports, presentations and case studies to a high standard, including proofreadingContributing to business development through developing proposals, pitches and our social media postsKey candidate requirements:Educated to degree level or equivalentAt least two years’ work-based research or consultancy experience, ideally in social researchExcellent social skills and experience of engaging diverse participants in researchExperience of supporting delivery across a range of research projectsExcellent writing and editing skills, including an ability to communicate complex issues and ideas in an accessible and engaging wayExcellent planning and time-management skillsCritical reading, review and analysis skills, honed through experience of working with a range of qualitative dataPro-active and flexible approach to task deliveryWillingness to develop within the role, learn from feedback and work with new toolsExcellent verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to contribute effectively and constructively within a teamStrong attention to detail and logical approach to information gathering and analysisCapacity to work across multiple projects with different deadlinesStrong commercial awareness and ability to deliver on time and within budgetGood understanding of the public sector and third sectors in ScotlandAbility to quickly understand the context and constraints that affect our clientsA full driving license and access to a carBased in Scotland for remote working, with willingness to travel for meetings and fieldwork across Scotland, where required.About usFounded in 2012, The Lines Between deliver objective, robust research that informs, engages and influences a wide range of service providers, funders, stakeholders and communities.We provide consultation analysis, evaluations, primary research, surveys, case studies and evidence reviews, using a range of traditional and innovative approaches.
