The business comprises three brands, Neville Johnson Furniture and Stairs, Tom Howley Kitchens and London Door Company and employs in the region of 600 employees. This position is to support both Neville Johnson and London Door Company.
We are now seeking to recruit a Safety and SHEQ Advisor. Reporting to the Group SHEQ Manager and working alongside other colleagues, you will be responsible for implementing relevant policies across our sites, amongst other safety and standard related tasks, ensuring that full compliance is met at all times.
Role responsibilities include:
* Carrying out and arranging appropriate health and safety training for all staff members
* Maintaining training records
* Inducting new members of staff
* Dealing with requests for safety related equipment
* Collating relevant safety documentation and reviewing its effectiveness
* Review of risk assessments and method statements
* Update and review the health and safety policies
* Maintaining and delivering associated Company records
* Carrying out internal quality and environmental audits
* Manage and oversee Occupational Health screening across the business
* Carry out internal fire alarm checks
* Carry out legionella testing across the site
* Meeting and working with external contractors (waste management, insurance visits etc.)
* Produce monthly quality reports for heads of departments
* Carry out DSE assessments across the business
* Undertake small ad hoc projects related to the role
Training Required:
* ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
* ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Fire Risk Assessment
* Display Screen Equipment Assessor
* Legionella Awareness (Preferred)
* COSHH (Preferred)
* First Aid (Preferred)
* NEBOSH (Preferred)
* Mental Health First Aid (Preferred)
