We are a non-profit charity nursery rated Outstanding by Ofsted, which opened in January 2007. The Willows Daycare offers an inclusive, safe, fun environment, giving children aged birth to 11 years the opportunity to develop positive relationships, to thrive and understand and enjoy the awe and wonder of the world.
We are located in Ipswich, a 10 minute drive from the town centre and a 5 minute drive from A12/A14.
An opportunity has arisen for a Extended Schools leader to join our Outstanding team. This is a joint role across Out of School Club and Daycare. During term time hours will be split between Leading the After School Club and working in one of our Daycare rooms. During the school holidays all hours are based within our holiday club, planning and leading sessions.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high quality care and education and has excellent knowledge of early years practice and child development. You will need to be dedicated, confident at talking with parents and work well as part of a team.
Job purpose: To be responsible for the general running and organisation of the out of school club, leading the team to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the children.
You must have:
* Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (0-8 years).
* GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent.
* Paediatric First Aid Training.
* Safeguarding children training.
* Food safety.
* 2-3 years post qualification experience in an Early Years setting.
Your main duties will be:
* To follow and ensure all staff work within the Daycare ethos by providing experiences and an environment that promote awe and wonder for all children.
* To ensure that all staff follow the setting policies and procedures.
* To lead and motivate the team, communicating and directing staff as necessary ensuring positive teamwork at all times. Challenging staff as necessary and report any concerns to the management team.
* Act as a positive role model, encouraging staff to work to best practice and strive for high quality care and education at all times.
* Ensure that communication between staff is consistent and effective to strengthen the team and have a positive impact on the wider setting.
* Play and interact with children, following their interests, extending their play, and learning.
* To produce a weekly enhancement plan. Planning a range of fun activities around children’s interests and ideas.
* Plan and prepare a program of engaging activities during school holidays, ensuring that it is suited to the children’s ages and abilities.
* Develop, maintain, and monitor, along with your team a high-quality continuous provision both indoor and outdoor.
