We are looking for a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to work within the Critical Care and Surgery Therapy Team at Northwest Anglia Foundation Trust with a particular interest in acute in-patient amputee rehabilitation.
The post holder will work within a large inpatient team of both qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and Support Staff covering work on the acute surgical and medical wards as well as critical care but will outreach to patients repatriated to the Trust following their amputation. They will provide a source of expertise within the field of surgery and acute post amputation rehabilitation both to the team and the wider MDT in the Trust as well as working closely with our outpatient amputee service to ensure patients transition appropriately between the services.
The post holder will be required to participate in the respiratory on-call roster.
Main duties of the job
The Highly Specialist Physiotherapist working with the Critical Care & Surgery Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of critical care & surgery. They will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients.
They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Critical Care & Surgery therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. To lead on service development, audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver on best practice evidence based care in line with trust and national priorities. To be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high quality care.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
* HCPC Registered
* Evidence of CPD (portfolio)
* Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area – Respiratory care, surgery or acute amputee management
* Evidence of leadership or management training
* CSP member
* Member of CSP Specialist section – ACPRC or BACPAR
Experience
* NHS experience working at senior level
* Clinical experience within respiratory care, surgery or acute amputee management
* Demonstrate active involvement in the audit process
* Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
* Experience of developing staff and sharing knowledge
* Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
Knowledge
* Demonstrate sound level of theoretical profession specific knowledge
Key skills/abilities
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Leadership and motivational skills
* Ability to present information in a logical and concise manner
