Job Summary:
We are seeking a Buyer to support procurement activities within a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet operational and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and a keen eye for cost optimization and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute purchase orders and manage procurement activities in collaboration with production and engineering teams.
* Source and procure materials, components, and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and supplier reliability.
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize procurement costs and maintain quality standards.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance business partnerships.
* Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to prevent supply chain disruptions.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand material requirements and ensure procurement aligns with business needs.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Identify and onboard new suppliers to improve sourcing strategies and reduce risks.
* Assist in supplier audits and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
* Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track orders, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
Requirements:
* Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar) is a plus.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Understanding of procurement best practices and cost reduction strategies.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or business needs.
