Project Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Project manage all aspects of design and production of custom-built packages.
2. Schedule, monitor and control project activities to meet critical deadlines.
3. Liaising directly with clients and suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and met e.g. regulatory processes, material, and design specifications such as ASME VIII and PD5500, industry electrical and instrumentation standards.
4. In-house company standards also to be met and communicated.
5. Working with suppliers and clients to resolve problems and find appropriate solutions, while ensuring company interests are protected.
6. Guiding and expediting the design team (drawing office) to produce technical drawings that meet project specification and drive production activities to progress the package build, which includes technical and operational problem solving.
7. Raising purchase orders for a variety of structural, piping, controls, and instrumentation equipment that meet client and company specifications, and monitoring costs against project budget.
8. Supporting the production department and suppliers with prioritising and scheduling manufacturing, build, and test operations to ensure critical milestones are achieved.
Project Engineer Skills and Experience Required:
1. Degree level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
2. Demonstrable industry experience in a similar role.
3. Awareness of industry material and design standards e.g. ATEX, ASME.
4. Experience with rotating equipment.
5. Familiar with E&I specification.
6. Strong understanding and experience working with P&ID and GA drawings.
7. Microsoft software packages including Project.
