About Us: We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in schools across the Keighley area. We are seeking staff for one busy setting in particular, but you will have the option to work at multiple schools according to your availability and preferences. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are ready to provide exceptional, high-quality support to pupils with complex needs, including sensory activities such as hydrotherapy and other specialist interventions. Responsibilities: Proactively engage with pupils, offering hands-on support to ensure their needs are fully met. Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to pupils with PMLD. Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility where necessary. Facilitate and support sensory activities, including hydro pools, sensory rooms, and other therapeutic interventions. Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized learning plans (ILPs). Use specialist equipment and resources to engage pupils and enhance their learning experience. Foster strong, supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel comfortable, valued, and motivated. Monitor pupil progress and report on their well-being, helping to adapt support plans as necessary. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs. Experience with sensory activities, such as hydrotherapy, sensory rooms, and other interventions designed to engage pupils. A proactive, 'can-do' attitude with the willingness to get involved and provide hands-on support. Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks, including manual handling and feeding. Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to support pupil interaction. Flexibility to work in different schools across the Keighley area. A valid Child and Adult DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate- you may make application through us if you do not currently have this. Desirable: Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent. Experience with assistive technologies and communication tools.
