Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available As a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Planner, you will play a critical role in our Distribution's PMO. You will be responsible for setting and embedding planning standards across our portfolio to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently. You will contribute to a high-value portfolio of 'Transform, Run and Grow' investments focusing on people, process, organisation, and technology transformation. You will establish robust standards and methods, provide assurance services and deliver planning support and advice to programmes and projects. The aim is to boost organisational capability and embed planning best practices. In the role you will: Lead on the development of planning standards, best practice processes and the key tools/templates required for programmes and projects. Enhance our project organisation's planning capabilities through coaching, healthy challenge, support and training initiatives. Provide project and programme planning support service including support and advice on planning and resourcing, facilitating collaborative planning and planning recovery exercises. Lead planning assurance to ensure programme or project plans have sufficient detail for tracking and challenge inadequately detailed plans. Lead the analysis of plans and schedules to assess that the impact of change control has been fully reflected in project and programme schedules and make recommendations regarding delivery and whether it remains viable within the timeframe. You'll also support the wider PMO by providing high level views of governance and Portfolio milestones and key deliverables. What do I need To excel as a PMO Planner, you should have the following skills and qualifications: Working project planning experience, ideally having worked within large change and IT projects with experience of both agile and waterfall development lifecycles including building fully integrated complex activity networks. Experience of the development, implementation and embedding of programme and project planning standards, processes and guidelines, and their continual development to meet organisational needs. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel. Ability to assist decision making by providing clear analysis of the impacts of schedule delays and provide mitigation strategies to remove or reduce the impact of project delay and change. Experience of earned value management would also be beneficial. Ability to communicate, influence and manage the expectations of a range of internal stakeholders; making sure information is presented accurately and is effectively understood by the audience. Skills to support project assurance and health checks and recommendations for corrective actions, where appropriate. You'll be comfortable working independently, have a flexible approach, and be able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines and/or changing priorities whilst remaining motivated.
