Introduction
Are you an experienced Mental Health Administrator or have working knowledge of the Mental Health Act legislation, looking to work part time (30 hours per week) at a brand new 12 bed eating disorder service supporting young adults between the ages of 18 - 25 years old?
You will work closely with the Hospital Director to support Mental Health Act administration requirements and support regulation compliance at Middlewood Clinic in Midhurst, West Sussex.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Co-ordinating the accurate and timely completion and processing of section papers and associated documentation in accordance with the requirements of the MHA and code of practice.
* Ensuring patients, their relatives, legal representatives and official agencies are provided with the information and documentation required to effect the detention, registration and admission of an individual under the provisions of the MHA.
* Receiving and responding to enquiries and requests for information in accordance with company policy, service level agreements and statutory regulations.
* Dealing with the administrative tasks associated with Associate Managers appeal and renewal Hearings and Mental Health Tribunals including meeting with detained patients to explain their rights of appeal against detention under the MHA.
* Attending Associate Hospital Managers Hearings and supporting Mental Health Tribunals.
To be a Successful Mental Health Administrator you will need:
* Educated to GCSE level standard.
* Working knowledge of MHA legislation and its implications in relation to the client group & mental health.
* Competence in the use of standard office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Experience within a relevant administrative or clinical role.
* Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Middlewood Clinic provides care and treatment for men and women who have an eating disorder including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and atypical eating disorders. Subject to CQC registration, our approach will be to restore a healthy body weight and address psychological problems during treatment.
The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Middlewood Clinic will be made up of the Registered Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Psychologist, Dietician, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker.
The hospital will have 12 comfortable ensuite bedrooms and a variety of communal and recreational spaces including lounge areas, a light and airy dining room, activities room, visitors room, therapy rooms, therapy kitchen area and a lovely cottage style garden.
