An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Team Leader to join our team in Cheshire working in a payroll bureau and consultancy environment.
The role will suit an experienced payroll team leader or someone with strong payroll experience looking to step up into a payroll manager role.
This is a fast-paced role leading managing the end-to-end payroll for multiple clients in an outsourced arrangement. You will be working independently to support clients but will have additional support from the wider payroll team at CE Back Office. This will either be a full-time role supporting several clients and team members.

Full time role, hybrid with 2 days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday)

£ - £ Dependant on experience
Job Purpose:
1. To deliver end to end payroll services for allocated outsourced clients
2. To lead a small number of payroll administrators
3. To manage daily workload and plans
4. To be the first point of call for escalations on complex payroll topics
5. To report performance to the service delivery manager
6. To maintain client relationships for payroll services
Knowledge:
1. Understand and complete manual payroll calculations.
2. Payroll regulations including ITEPTA, Pension regulations, WTR, and AWR.
3. Data Protection.
4. NMW.
5. Knowledge of and calculations of statutory payments.
6. Understand and administer employee benefits and expenses.
7. Understanding of termination and redundancy payments along with effective management of earnings for NI and Tax purposes.
8. Understanding of varying pension schemes including salary sacrifice schemes.
9. Understanding of Directors NI.
10. Understanding of SIP schemes and LTIPs.
Required Skills:
1. Strong mathematics skills and the ability to carry out manual payroll calculations.
2. Ability to run manual payroll calculations to include tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions.
3. Ability to process payroll from end to end including year-end procedures.
4. Ability to use excel including use of formulas including v look-ups and pivot tables.
5. Strong written and verbal communication.
6. Ideally, hold a relevant payroll qualification.
7. Experience with a modified payroll would be an advantage but not essential.
