The lead for Patient Experience & Engagement will provide expert professional leadership, supporting all clinical teams throughout the organisation in delivering the highest possible standard of patient care which is delivered safely and effectively to ensure a positive patient experience.
They will have a key liaison role with the Trust's Patient Safety partners, patients, families, and carers as key participants ensuring that the patient voice from all communities is heard, especially those with health inequalities.
We are looking for an exceptional leader who is experienced, innovative, and committed to making a real difference to patient experience and engagement. This is a key post, supporting the Chief Nurse, Heads of Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professionals, and Clinical Service Line Teams. This post sits within the Bedfordshire Hospitals Corporate Nursing Team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
* Be the lead for patient experience and public engagement/involvement.
* Be responsible for leading developments that will improve the patient experience, patient safety, and delivery of the Quality Strategy (Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (AHP)).
* Lead/participate in implementing professional and corporate objectives as part of the Corporate Nursing team.
* Lead/participate in implementing professional and corporate objectives (including Clinical Service Improvement (CSI), as relevant).
* Liaise with the Deputy Director for Quality Governance in relation to the Patient Safety Partners role within the organisation.

Job responsibilities
To improve the patient/client experience and standards of care and services, at a senior level in line with the corporate nursing, midwifery and AHP Strategy, Trust values and behaviours. As an integral member of the corporate nursing team, provide support to implement and monitor progress on delivery of strategic objectives to ensure the provision of high-quality, patient and family centred services. The lead will provide professional and/or clinical advice and actively contribute to innovative solutions to quality improvement. The lead will support the executive chief nurse in the delivery of quality improvement work streams and continuous improvements in standards of patient care and experience. They will be responsible for leading improvement work streams and projects across the Trust both responding to and contributing to informing the local and national policy agenda on quality improvement contributing to the overall patient experience. They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and relevant departments internal and external to the Trust to ensure the delivery of responsive individualised patient care developing and supporting staff. Work with the Executive Chief Nurse to develop a corporate Patient Experience Strategy and be responsible for its implementation, monitoring and evaluation across the Trust. Drive improved patient experience across all services and evidence this by the analysis of national and local patient surveys, ensuring engagement with stakeholder and patient groups.

Qualifications
* Relevant Master's degree or working towards or experience working at this level.
* Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area.
* Teaching Qualification.
* Leadership Qualification.
* NMC/HCPC registration.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience within a senior role.

* Evidence of leadership development.
* A strong sense of drive, determination and resilience.
* Previous experience of working in a similar role in an acute Trust.
